FileSender: Audience
Any organization that has a need for exchanging (large) files in a secure, privacy assured and direct way can rely on FileSender. In particular, nonprofit organizations in the public sector can benefit, as there is a strong need for data and privacy security that is auditable. Now they can safely rely on FileSender.
Ideally suited for nonprofit organizations
Currently, National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) from all over the world use FileSender to exchange large files such as data sets and other research data. Healthcare facilities can use the application to exchange diagnostic imagery such as cardiograms or MRI images. Government agencies that need to exchange (privacy) sensitive data sets for example can use FileSender and rest assured the data will never fall into the wrong hands.
We promise data that users exchange is never stored longer than indicated. We do need users to login, however, because the application needs to be able to identify and verify senders and receivers to control access.
NREN FileSender deployment map
We attempt to keep track of the deployed footprint of the FileSender software, especially in the R&E community. According to our data from May 2024 there are 45 countries in the world in which NRENs provide a FileSender service to their national R&E communities. All these countries are shown on the NREN FileSender deployment map at the right.
ISP’s & hosting providers can enrich their services
Internet service and hosting providers can offer FileSender white-label to their customers. In this way, they can help their customers to tackle the thorny issues of privacy and compliance. Thanks to our API, FileSender is easy to integrate into any online platform. Contact us to find out what we can do for your organization.
Developers are invited to collaborate
Since FileSender is an open source application, we encourage our users and others that are interested to further develop the software. Join our community.
